About Dr. Cheney

VT Licensed Clinical Psychologist - Doctorate

Dr. Cheney attended the University of Vermont and graduated cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors with a major in psychology and minor in history. He then spent 2-years working on two research teams at UVM examining seasonal affective disorder and alcohol use disorder.

Following his undergraduate and research experiences at UVM, Dr. Cheney attended Roosevelt University's Clinical Psychology Doctorate of Psychology program, and received his doctorate in psychology (PsyD) after completing his predoctoral internship at the White River Junction VA Medical Center, in White River Junction, Vermont.

Dr. Cheney then received specialized postdoctoral training in health psychology, primary care psychology, and specialty mental health care at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. During his advanced training, Dr. Cheney mastered the use of CBT-I and CBT-CP as well as other health psychology interventions. Dr. Cheney has since received certification as a CBT-I provider and is considered an expert in the use of the treatment.

Dr. Cheney has helped hundreds of people overcome insomnia and chronic pain in both individual and group settings, and he looks forward to helping you achieve better sleep, less pain, and improved energy!
