What is health psychology?

Health psychology focuses on the relationship between the social, psychological, and biological factors that influence health and illness. A health psychologist examines how the mind and body influence one another to increase wellness leading to a higher quality of life.

Dr. Cheney's approach to health psychology is collaborative and rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). He works with both patients and medical providers as needed on a wide range of health-related concerns. Dr. Cheney has successfully helped many people overcome, or cope with, insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, CPAP desensitization, nightmares, chronic pain, headaches, nicotine addiction, chronic illness, terminal illness, diabetes, obesity, nutritional difficulties, and more.
