Trouble Sleeping?

Difficulty sleeping is a common experience. In fact, roughly 33% of adults report difficulty with sleep. Poor sleep can lead to significant distress and day-time challenges, such as irritability, poor concentration, fatigue, and social, occupational, or educational impairment. If you have experienced regularly and long-lasting challenges with your sleep, you may have insomnia.

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that affects 6 to 10% of the adult US population. People who experience insomnia have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking earlier than intended without being able to go back to sleep. These symptoms occur at least three times per week for at least 3-months and cause significant distress.

As a result of poor sleep, some experience increased rates of accidents or mistakes, increased risk of mental and physical health disorders, like major depressive disorder, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Additionally, those who experience difficulty with sleep are more likely to miss work and/or be less productive, which can lead to financial struggles and reduced quality of life.
